Sponsorship and Event Marketing Leader

As the Sponsorship and Events Leader, you will lead the strategic development and execution of sponsorship and events initiatives to elevate the Interac brand. This role requires a visionary approach to long-term sponsorship strategy, combined with the practical know-how to execute high-impact programs that drive brand prominence and support business objectives. You will manage cross-functional collaboration and maintain a focus on measurable outcomes, budget optimization, and fostering partnerships that drive Interac’s strategic priorities.

You’ll be responsible for:

  1. Strategy:
    • Develop a long-term sponsorship strategy that amplifies the Interac brand and deepens engagement with both the business community and consumers.
  2. Storytelling:
    • Extend the brand, product marketing, and integrated marketing narratives into sponsorship and event activations that engage and inspire.
    • Infuse an innovation mindset, testing novel approaches to capture attention and generate leads for business development.
    • Develop engaging brand experiences at events and through sponsorships to enhance Interac’s visibility and industry presence.
  3. Go-to-Market (GTM) Leadership:
    • Lead the development of quarterly and annual GTM plans, collaborating with Marketing, Product, and Communications teams.
    • Oversee program planning and execution, directing agency and internal teams to enhance Interac’s brand prominence within the industry.
    • Manage bespoke events that support Client/Sales teams by generating new business leads and strengthening existing relationships.
  4. Budget Management:
    • Take accountability for the sponsorship and events budget, ensuring resources are strategically allocated.
  5. Team Leadership:
    • Provide guidance, coaching, and training for sales and client-facing teams to ensure consistent and effective product positioning.
      • 10 - 15 years of marketing experience, ideally within sponsorships and events, with a strong background in financial services or payments.
      • Strong leadership abilities and team collaboration skills, with a talent for integrating customer insights and market research into strategy.
      • A data-driven mindset with experience measuring, analyzing, and reporting on the effectiveness of sponsorship and marketing campaigns.
