If you are ready to work in our fast paced environment in the capacity of Indigenous Prenatal Nutrition Worker, submit your resume today Responsibilities The Indigenous Prenatal Nutrition Worker will ensure that the goals, objectives and overall policy of the Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program is adequately met. The objective of the program is to provide a nutritional program that identifies the needs of at risk pregnant women and to provide support to improve the health of Indigenous mothers and their babies up to six months of age that live off-reserve. Qualifications A post‑secondary education diploma in Social Work or Health Sciences, and/or combination of equivalent and relevant education. Proficiency in MS Office applications and Database applications. Ability to facilitate workshops and public education forums. Excellent oral and written communication skills, with emphasis on report writing. Good organizational and administrative skills. Ability to work independently and as a team with minimal supervision. Experience in working with not‑for‑profit, provincial and federal funding agencies. Experience in working with Indigenous people and organizations. Knowledge of the Friendship Centre movement and its aims and objectives. Knowledge and awareness of Indigenous culture and history, with particular emphasis on family violence, child welfare, and the impacts of trauma. Ability to speak Cree and/or Ojibway is an asset. Must be licensed to drive a motor vehicle, insured to do so in the Province of Ontario and have access to a safe and reliable vehicle. A clear criminal reference check (CPIC) and a Vulnerable Sector search will be a condition of the employment offer. Covid‑19 Vaccine.
