Position Overview This clinic on the Namgis First Nations reserve is looking for a physician to join the Health team. The physician will work in clinic with 2 physicians and other health team members: including 2 community care nurses, 2 mental health workers, addictions counselors and a social worker. Visiting occupational therapists, social work, mental health, intensive case managers and a midwife are also available. Additionally, visiting specialists include Pediatrics, Rheumatology, Ophthalmology and Psychiatry. Key Responsibilities Provide ER coverage. Deliver inpatient hospital care. Administer long‑term patient care. Team Composition 2 physicians 2 community care nurses 2 mental health workers addictions counselors social worker visiting occupational therapists social work mental health intensive case managers midwife visiting specialists: Pediatrics, Rheumatology, Ophthalmology, Psychiatry Benefits & Incentives In addition to salary, the position may be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including:Recruitment Incentive: $20,000Relocation Costs Reimbursement: up to a maximum of $15,000Fee Premium: 23.94%Annual Flat Fee: $27,558.36Rural CME: starting at $1,320/annum for 2 years or less in community, increasing to a maximum of $5,720 after 4 years.Rural GP Locum Program provides $900/day for locum physician with 43 days/annum locum coverage to resident physician. Start Date As soon as possible. Location & Community Located on Cormorant Island, off the northeast coast of Vancouver Island, Alert Bay offers a wide variety of indoor and outdoor recreational opportunities ranging from local arts and cultural pursuits to hiking, cycling, beachcombing, camping, kayaking, and whale watching.
