Program Manager, Credentialed Programs Justice Institute of British Columbia Location: New Westminster, BC Employment Type: Full‑time, Regular Closing Date: Open until filled, first review December 1, 2025 Position Summary We are looking for a leader with a passion for supporting student success and building high‑quality learning experiences. As a member of the Emergency Management Division, the Program Manager plays a key role in the development, management, and coordination of tuition‑based academic programs and courses, working closely with students, faculty, and subject‑matter experts to ensure programs meet JIBC’s standards and provide an engaging and positive learning experience. Responsibilities Lead the creation, development, management, and ongoing refinement of new and existing programs in online, blended, and/or in‑class formats. Oversee delivery and scheduling of diploma, degree, and post‑baccalaureate courses; coordinate instructors, course materials, textbooks, and maintain the online learning management system. Support students through academic advising and ensure effective communication and smooth course operations. Contribute to curriculum and instructional quality by supporting pedagogical innovations, facilitating courses, and reviewing or updating course materials. Advance division priorities by developing new programs, supporting research activities, and representing the program at internal and external meetings. Support faculty through recruitment, onboarding, mentoring, and coordination of instructional needs. Monitor financial activities related to program delivery, ensuring efficient use of resources and supporting budgeting processes. Qualifications & Requirements Master’s degree in a related discipline or working toward such credential is preferred. Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar program‑management capacity, preferably within a post‑secondary education setting. 3+ years’ experience leading a team and managing staff (experience managing in a unionized environment is an asset). Thorough knowledge of post‑secondary practices in student relations/advising and program coordination. Ability to work effectively and maintain professional relations with students, faculty, staff, and the public. Experience in and knowledge of curriculum development processes, instructional design, adult education. Credential or formal training in adult education, teaching, or instructional design is an asset. Credential or formal training in Disaster/Emergency Management is an asset. Formalized cultural competency and cultural safety training is an asset. Demonstrated experience with managing budgets, project and time‑management skills are required. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, build rapport and trust, and exercise judgement and sensitivity when working with complex issues.
