We provide financing solutions for land, subdivision financing, multi-family, retail, industrial, office, hospitality, mixed-use properties, and specialty financing, such as equity and structured financing dealsPosition Analyst, FundingReporting to Director, Investment ManagementLocation Edmonton, AlbertaThe OpportunityThe successful candidate will support the timely funding of loans by reviewing funding conditions, preparing draw requests, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate structuring of loan advances and occasionally involves credit analysis, evaluation of financing proposals, and preparation of investor funding packages. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented and analytical individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and brings strong financial acumen, precision, and a commitment to excellence in client services.Your responsibilitiesLoan funding + coordinationReview and verify all conditions precedent before funding approval.Prepare and review construction draw calculations, ensuring compliance with approved budgets and loan terms.Recommend draws for funding, with a focus on financial prudence and project viability.Ensure all loan advances are accurately entered into the system, enabling proper calculation of loan-to-value (LTV), loan-to-cost (LTC), and other key financial metrics.Prepare funding packages for issuance to investors, ensuring accuracy and completeness.Conduct loan security and compliance reviews to validate funding readiness.Work closely with internal stakeholders and external parties to facilitate seamless funding execution.Provide high-level oversight on loan disbursement process to ensure adherence to guidelines.Credit review + analysisAssess mortgage credit applications on an ongoing basis, separate or in conjunction with Funding responsibilities, to evaluate:Market value reasonabilityBorrower credibility and repayment abilityProject feasibility and exit strategy viabilityMarket outlook, economic fundamentals, and risk factorsPrepare credit recommendations and executive summaries for approval.Identify key risks and mitigants within transactions, ensuring appropriate security and documentation structures.Collaborate with the investment management and origination teams to refine credit structuring best practices.Process improvement + complianceDevelop and implement control mechanisms to enhance accuracy in funding calculations and approvals.Identify areas for process improvement and recommend efficiencies in funding workflows.Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, and ethical standards related to loan administration and funding.Monitor key operational metrics related to funding processes and recommend strategic improvements.Special projects + strategic initiativesParticipate in or lead initiatives focused on optimizing funding operations and credit analysis methodologies.Support technology and automation enhancements to streamline funding workflows.Contribute to research and analysis to implement industry best practices and improve operational effectiveness.Your Capabilities and CredentialsA bachelor’s degree in finance, real estate, economics, business, or a related field.3+ years of experience in mortgage underwriting, credit analysis, or loan administration preferred.Strong knowledge of construction financing, draw processes, and funding procedures.Experience with financial modeling and loan performance analysis.Familiarity with mortgage loan documentation, legal and loan security processes and applicable regulations.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, with strong data management capabilities.Comfortable dealing with highly confidential information.Financial acumen and has a strong understanding of mortgage products, underwriting principles, and real estate market dynamics.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, can assess complex transactions and use data-driven insights to make recommendations.Excels at managing competing priorities and executing multiple high-value transactions within strict deadlines.Excellent attention to detail skills with a high level of precision in reviewing financial data and funding documentation.Demonstrates strong collaboration and communication skills, working effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders through clear, professional interactions.Delivers exceptional client service by ensuring smooth and efficient funding processes for investors, clients, and partners.What KV Capital offersCompetitive total compensation package, including performance based and long-term incentives.Competitive vacation and flexible time off, including birthdays off and holiday office closure.100% employer paid benefitsTuition and professional development supportOn-site gymHybrid work model: 4 days in office, 1 day remote per weekapply nowYou will be part of an enthusiastic and highly effective team with no end of challenging and transformational work in sight.
