The Company They are the first and largest peer-to-peer marketplace for laundry. Their customers tap the app and outsource their laundry. For them, it’s life without laundry, because we hacked it out of existence. They have solved a second problem too, which is that more and more people of varying backgrounds want to work from home. Luckily most people have an underutilized washer/dryer, which when combined with our Pro app, provides the first-ever manual labor work-from-home gig in the world. For all users, they are the marketplace for a better life. The Role You won’t just be the liaison between Product and Engineering—you’ll orchestrate the entire tech symphony that propels their growth. As the Engineering Manager, you’ll be the maestro of innovation, uniting a global team around big product visions and delivering features that delight customers. From sprint planning to cultivating a high-performance culture, your leadership will ensure the product scales at lightning speed. What You’ll Do Command the Troops. Work with the globally distributed engineering squads, bridging time zones like a pro to deliver top-tier product features on time. Drive the Roadmap. Translate ambitious goals into tangible sprint plans and tickets, ensuring everything from planning to release happens like clockwork. Guard the Gates. Set the gold standard for code quality, security, and performance. Implement monitoring and incident response so issues get squashed before users even notice. Spark Innovation. Keep your radar on for emerging tools and best practices, foster continuous learning, and create a safe space for bold ideas and rapid experimentation. Align with Stakeholders. Keep leadership informed, manage resources like a wizard, and ensure engineering efforts always sync up with the overarching vision. Here’s How You’ll Leave Your Mark Team AlchemistYou’ll attract, nurture, and retain top-notch engineering talent, shaping the future superstar teams. Strategic VisionaryPrepare tickets, ensuring they are clear, complete, and stable (ready the week before the sprint begins)—with no need for changes and minimal need for clarification once the sprint begins. Operations AceYou’ll maintain robust, scalable operations—staying two steps ahead of any hiccup and ensuring everything runs smoother than freshly ironed laundry. Innovation CatalystYou’ll foster an environment where new ideas are tested early and often, stay ahead of the curve and at the cutting edge of on-demand services. Collaboration MavenYou’ll build bridges between product, design, and other teams, creating a unified force that drives forward. What You’ll Bring to the Table Battle-Hardened Leadership10+ years of engineering management, including at least 3 years in a fast-moving startup. You’ve seen it all—scalability challenges, tight deadlines, and epic product launches. Technical Street CredA solid background in TypeScript, Node.js, and cloud services like AWS, GCP, or Firebase. You know your way around modern web/mobile stacks and track it all with tools like Jira. Product IntuitionYou’ve got a knack for understanding UX and product roadmaps. You can translate a PRD into crystal-clear, effective tickets that keep engineers humming. Organizational SuperpowersYou don’t just keep your house in order—you keep the entire team aligned, planned, and ready to execute without a hitch. People WhispererCoaching, mentoring, performance reviews—you do it all. You’re a champion for engineer growth and can guide junior devs into becoming rockstar contributors. Speed DemonYou juggle multiple priorities in fast-paced, async environments without breaking a sweat—and you never lose sight of the bigger picture. Startup SpiritYou’re self-directed, thrive in ambiguity, and treat “no” as the start of “how.” You’re all about innovation and pushing boundaries. Global Expansion Curiosity (Nice to Have)Experience scaling products internationally or rolling out geo-based features? Even better. We love a global go-getter. TheTech Stack The tech stack is mostly TypeScript, allowing engineers to implement end-to-end functionality. On the frontend we they Angular/Ionic and on the backend Firebase.
