Senior Metallurgist

Senior Metallurgist – Kamloops, BC Intertek (BML) is a global leader in metallurgical testing and is seeking an experienced Senior Metallurgist for our Kamloops location. The successful candidate will work on Mineral Processing projects and will have experience with comminution, flotation, leaching and pressure oxidation. Specific Responsibilities Manage projects, including: Bid preparation Client interaction Complete metallurgical balances and communicate data to clients Analyze data and determine direction of testing program based on results Analyze and present results for final project reports Write final technical reports for projects under management and others if needed Conduct, supervise and report bench‑scale and pilot‑plant test work Direct, supervise and, when necessary, conduct laboratory test work Liaise with the Technical Services Manager regarding ongoing test programmes Provide mentoring to other technical staff Observe safety regulations and comply with health and safety policies Perform other duties as assigned by the manager Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Mineral Processing, Extractive Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering PEng registration preferred Minimum 7 years’ experience in mineral processing; gold or base metals processing preferred Core Competencies Metallurgical testing in a laboratory setting Demonstrated leadership skills Excellent written and oral communication skills Salary & Benefits Salary range: $100,000 – $150,000 per year. Individual compensation is based on skill set, experience, qualifications and other factors. Benefits include vacation, paid sick days, medical benefits and more.
