Together, we are EXP.Are you ready to design your future?Be our next Senior Transportation DesignerDue to an expansion of transportation infrastructure work across Western Canada EXP is looking for a senior Transportation Designer for our office’s infrastructure division to focus on multi-modal transportation and infrastructure projects across Western Canada. The respondent will work on various projects and act as a member of transportation infrastructure team and will get an opportunity to work on a wide-range of projects involving safety studies, multi-modal roadway planning, aviation design, bridge and highway design, transit design, site civil design, design review and construction oversight.EXP is looking for a Transportation Designer for our Office’s Infrastructure Division to focus on multi-modal transportation and infrastructure projects. The respondent will work on various projects and act as a member of infrastructure team and will get an opportunity to work on a wide range of projects involving safety studies, multi-modal roadway planning, aviation design, highway design, transit design, site civil design, design review and construction oversight. As part of an existing transportation team, this senior role will have the responsibility to help grow the team, mentoring intermediate and junior members of staff, helping them reach their own full potential. This role will report directly to the VP Transportation for Western Canada and be directly involved with the transportation leadership team, influencing how the team grows and develops into the future.This is an opportunity for the right person to lead and develop a design team supporting multiple divisions across the EXP Western Canada sector.EXP has offices across Western Canada, for the right candidate this role is available in the following office locations - Abbotsford, Burnaby, Calgary or Edmonton.What a day at EXP has in store for youLeadership role, assisting the VP of Transportation Western Canada with divisional strategic planning and growth.Perform and lead engineering design tasks for transportation and infrastructure projects across the entire project life-cycle from conceptual design to final design, construction and commissioning.Develop design of multi-modal transportation projects as per applicable/regional design standards.Develop plans, specifications, quantities, and cost estimates as part of the preparation of both project tender packages and proposalsPrepare final bid packages, design-build packages, and project construction documents.Possess in-depth knowledge of current design software tools including Revit, AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Inroads.Mentor and develop intermediate and junior designers in transportation and associated infrastructure design.Lead and coordinate design activities between staff, across EXP internal divisions along with subcontractors, and clients.Perform technical analyses and reviews of transportation and infrastructure projects.Manage day-to-day activities of projects including interdivisional coordination, technical review, and other related activities.Supports the Transportation division in preparing reports, plans, and studies.Supports the Transportation division with client relationships and business development in developing proposals, presentations, and client development plans.Performs other related duties as assigned.What Your Experience Looks LikeA passion for the built environment and supporting the development of better places for people to live and work and communities to grow and develop.Diploma level or Bachelor of Science in Engineering/Sciences. Preferably in infrastructure, civil, transportation engineering.In depth knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Revit.8+ plus years of experience.Strong technical design background in transportation/transit/infrastructure design.Experience with local City and County agency standards and projects.Excellent oral and written communications skillsProficient in MS Office, PowerPoint, MSProject and InDesign.
