About Our Opportunity As an Investigation & Compliance Officer you will be responsible for licensing, auditing, and compliance functions related to licensed Nursing Homes and Residential Care Facilities, as well as investigative functions in Homes for Special Care and Hospitals. Primary Accountabilities Coordinate and conduct thorough licensing inspections of Long‑Term Care Facilities, ensuring ongoing compliance with provincial legislation, regulations, policies, and standards. Prepare detailed licensing inspection reports, issue requirements, and submit recommendations for licenses and authorizations to operate. Lead investigations of abuse allegations on behalf of the Department, in accordance with the Protection for Persons in Care Act, including conducting inquiries and investigating allegations of resident and patient abuse in licensed long‑term care facilities and hospitals. Write reports and issue directives to health facilities to safeguard patients and residents. Conduct service audits as required to ensure quality and compliance, establishing benchmarks, performance measures, and identifying trends to improve outcomes. Maintain accurate statistics and gather information/research to support decision‑making and policy development. Draft briefing materials and correspondence for the Minister and senior management, ensuring clear and effective communication of findings and recommendations. Qualifications And Experience Licensed professional from a healthcare setting with five years of related experience. Currently registered or eligible for registration with applicable professional association. Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, and time‑management skills. Ability to build, foster, and maintain effective relationships with all customers. Knowledge of human development and the aging process, and experience in a multi‑disciplinary health long‑term care environment. Demonstrated competency in licensing, auditing, and investigating. Proficiency with office automation suites. Working knowledge of current provincial legislation, regulations, policies, and standards; experience in Continuing Care is an asset. Equivalency Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, or Nutritional Studies plus five years of related experience; or Diploma in Nursing plus seven years of related experience. The appointment status is dependent on the start date of the successful candidate.
