You ’ll be part of a diverse, talented team shaping the future of battery production and advancing your career while making a lasting impact.About The RoleWe are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Mechanical & Electrical & Plumbing Specialist to lead the construction management of mechanical and electrical systems across our projects. You will ensure that all operations meet project specifications, industry standards, and safety codes, contributing to the successful delivery of high-quality projects. This position is in-person and located in St. Thomas, Ontario. It is intended to be filled through a third-party staffing agency for a 12-month term, with potential for extension. The successful candidate will begin on a temporary contract directly with our organization before transitioning to the agency, with the role, responsibilities and reporting structure remaining constant to provide a stable experience.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, direct, and oversee all on-site plumbing, mechanical and electrical activities, ensuring compliance with project design, regulatory standards, and safety protocols.Conduct detailed reviews of construction drawings, documentation and BIM models to identify conflicts between architectural/structural elements and MEP systems. Ensure alignment with project requirements and proactively resolve issues to avoid delays.Review and coordinate relevant drawings and documentation to streamline workflows, eliminate schedule delays, and ensure smooth execution of MEP work.Work with internal teams and external stakeholders to monitor project schedules, manage RFIs, and oversee the approval of shop drawings.Supervise on-site progress of MEP installations to ensure adherence to timelines and quality standards.Monitor and control material and labor costs related to MEP components, ensuring accurate and timely quality reporting.Assist in resource planning and procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery and cost efficiency.Identify and mitigate project risks, implementing corrective actions as necessary to avoid delays or cost overruns.Provide expert direction during testing of MEP systems, ensuring optimal operation and functionality.Lead project closeout activities, including final inspections, documentation, and handover processes to internal stakeholders.Manage the preparation and submission of project reports, including progress updates, inspection records, and compliance documentation.Perform any additional tasks as required to support project completion.What You Bring To The TeamBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related construction field, or an equivalent combination of technical training and industry certifications.P.Eng. or P.E. preferred.5+ years of experience managing complex projects in Clean and Dry Rooms environments, Automotive, or pharmaceutical sectors. Proficient in project management, including scope development, specification creation, tendering, contractor management, QA, and closeout.Experience working within large, complex project teams and actively participating in project meetings.Experience on Design-Build projects.Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.Understanding of the design and construction process.Ability to work safely on an active construction site in accordance with the Health & Safety Plan.Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulatory requirements.Familiarity with CAD, BIM, and construction management tools.Knowledge of local building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.Analytical thinking to predict problems and solve them effectively.Professional communication with engineers, architects, and construction managers, both verbally and in writing.Team orientation and social competence.Detail oriented with a focus on ensuring components meet the overall project goals.Proficiency in construction scheduling, workflows, and QA/QC.Power PerksAttractive remuneration reflecting skills and contributions.Competitive paid time off with December 24–31 off; additional vacation policy details to be discussed.Opportunities for development.Relocation support.Participation in company events that give back to the community.Comprehensive benefits package with extended health care, dental, vision, and mental health support.Pension and retirement savings: 5% contribution to a registered pension plan and matching retirement savings plan.And much more.Please note that we appreciate the interest of all candidates; however, only those under consideration will be contacted.We believe that the best results are created in a diverse and inclusive environment.
