OverviewJoin our team as a Bilingual Senior Specialist, Benefits In this role, you will be instrumental in administering, launching and managing employee benefits programs across Canada and the US, ensuring a positive and engaging experience for employees and ODs. You’ll be supporting employees and ODs with benefits administration and collaborating with the benefits team to resolve complex and escalated issues. You’ll lead specialized benefits initiatives and have a deep understanding of the company’s benefit offerings and technological systems.This position is open to candidates located anywhere in Canada.What Will You Be Doing?Executing benefits administration, addressing escalated benefits inquiries and issuesManaging premium remittances, ensuring accurate processing through Payroll Earnings ImportConducting monthly audits on benefit eligibility status, enrollment, and terminations, collaborating with the payroll team to maintain up-to-date informationAdministrating leaves processes and coordinating pre-authorized debit deductions for premiums and arrears processReconciling retroactive premiums for those returning from leave or have coverage or status changesCompiling and delivering detailed billing information to accounting for OD benefit plan deductions on a bi-weekly basis and maintaining the retired OD benefit planEnsuring 100% compliance with government regulations regarding taxable benefits through quarterly reviewsResearching and reporting on benefit issues resulting from changes in employment legislation, providing monthly updates to the benefits teamAdministering full-cycle employee benefit programs, including health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, savings plans, optical benefits, employee assistance program, and recognition programsProviding support for filing claims and checking claim statusSupporting vendor, insurer and service management, including coordination of quarterly meetings with providersDeveloping and implementing global benefits policies, SOPs and processes, reviewing and updating annuallyDesigning and launching communication initiatives to educate employees and ODs on benefits and upcoming initiativesProviding reports and analytics related to employee benefits, including cost analysis and usage trendsAssisting with change of status process to ensure benefits deduction groups are accurate and that employment agreements are accurately reflectedRefining and developing benefits policies aligned with organizational goals and valuesUpdating bi-weekly and annual calendars with cyclical timingProviding support to benefits specialists as requiredAs the Successful Candidate You Have :Bilingualism (French / English) is required to communicate daily with team members across Canada5 to 7 years of relevant experience, preferably in a large organizationExperience in a multi-province benefit environmentUndergraduate Degree or College Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related fieldCompletion of the CEBS (Certified Employee Benefit Specialist) preferred or related fieldStrong knowledge of employee benefits laws and regulationsProficient with Microsoft ExcelProject management skills to handle multiple tasks and priorities simultaneouslyAnalytical and problem-solving mindsetStrong organizational and prioritization skillsDemonstrated experience maintaining confidentiality in all aspects of the jobAbility to work effectively with minimal supervisionProficiency in HRIS and benefits administration software is considered an assetKnowledge of US benefits is considered an assetHow You'll Benefit working at our Home Office :A comprehensive total rewards package, including two free pairs of glasses and lenses per yearA coaching culture that fosters ongoing growth and development opportunitiesA people-first culture, (but dogs are also welcome)An organization that gives back locally and nationally, and supports you in doing so as wellWhy You Should Join Us :FYihealth group is Canada's leading diversified healthcare organization comprised of FYidoctors, Visique, BonLook, and solis optics.
