OverviewSenior Automation Test Engineer role at Vancity. They support a team of about 2,700 diverse individuals and offer competitive rewards and benefits.About the WorkplaceThis is a Permanent, Full-Time role that will enjoy hybrid working arrangements which can be fulfilled primarily from the Vancity head office location and your Lower Mainland based home office. Periodically, you’ll be required to attend in-person activities or events.ResponsibilitiesServe as the main point of contact for testing framework interactions with Architects, Infrastructure Support, Operations Information Security, and other teams.Act as a subject matter expert on quality assurance, including test automation for web applications (Selenium WebDriver, SpecFlow, TOSCA), mobile applications (Appium), and APIs.Design and maintain the automated and performance test framework.Create and review test strategy and test plans; integrate automated regression test scripts into the CI/CD pipeline.Provide QA support on Test Environment issues; manage defects and collaborate with development teams on design issues.Coordinate with business teams for User Acceptance Testing (UAT).Ensure tools are secure and up to date.Provide QA expertise, advice, and risk mitigation recommendations to stakeholders.Write SQL queries to retrieve and validate data.Collaborate with development teams, vendors, release management, operations, and infrastructure teams.Contribute to team efficiency and work with Scrum team to deliver backlog priorities.Provide technical support and mentoring to other QA team members as needed.Adhere to testing standards and maintain documentation.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related discipline.4-7 years of software quality assurance experience in a complex, integrated technology environment (financial industry preferred).2+ years of QA experience for web, mobile, and back-end applications; 2+ years in test automation; hands-on with automation tools and frameworks (experience with TOSCA is a plus).Strong knowledge in: C++, Selenium, Dapper, SpecFlow/BDD, Appium, Sauce Labs, Xcode, JMeter, Splunk, and other automation tools.Proficient in SQL and data analytics; experience with integration tools like MuleSoft.Experience with Windows scripting languages (PowerShell, JScript, VBScript).Experience preparing test strategy and approach; ability to adapt tests to changes; mentoring experience; strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Experience with system and software integration involving multiple vendors.Bonus Points If You HaveExperience with Temenos T24 banking system; online and mobile banking testing; API testing; performance/load testing.Experience leading QA team members; establishing test environments and data requirements; owning test environments.Experience with Agile development in an Azure DevOps environment.Testing certifications such as ISTQB or similar.You AreExceptional communicator with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to advise across organizational levels.Detail-oriented with the ability to verify correctness of procedures and outcomes.Proactive, initiative-driven, and able to address challenges and risks.Strong problem solving, decision-making, and change-resilient mindset.Technical curiosity and commitment to applying relevant knowledge to the role.The salary range for the role is $81,200 to $122,000 annually. Base pay may vary based on qualifications, skills, experience, and internal equity.
