Overview An opportunity exists for a Medical Radiation Technologist I to join our team at Grey Nuns Community Hospital, working in General Radiography and rotating through all shifts that provide 24/7 coverage. Responsibilities The MRT I performs routine radiographic/fluoroscopic, computed tomography and interventional procedures, producing high diagnostic quality images efficiently and safely while attending to the diagnostic and care needs of patients undergoing such procedures. The MRT provides services in accordance with established standards and Covenant Health policies, mission, vision and values. Qualifications Graduate of a Radiological Technology program or recognized equivalent. Active registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). BLS (Level C – Health Care Provider). Current competency in all general radiographic exams. Demonstrated competency in adaptive radiographic techniques. Current competency in scanning basic CT exams. High degree of confidentiality. Ability to work within existing, clearly defined policies and procedures. Proven ability to work under pressure within a team in emergency situations. Experience and commitment to providing high quality student teaching and preceptorship. Experience in x‑ray emitting procedures requiring leaded apparel weighing up to 9.5 kg for up to 7.75 hours while assisting within the radiation field. Postgraduate experience preferred. Experience operating a Siemens CT scanner preferred.
