Apply today Position: Engineering Drafter, IntermediateShift: Regular Full Time, 40 hours a week Department: Engineering - Engineering Services Reports to: Manager, Engineering Services Location: Richmond, BC, Canada Purpose WhiteWater West is seeking an Engineering Drafter, Intermediate to join our Engineering team at our Richmond head office. In this position, you will undertake a variety of tasks to assist the Engineering Design Services team in producing project deliverables for various Engineering disciplines, primarily the Structural Engineering team. Examples of work assignments include assisting Structural and Mechanical Engineers with drafting design‑intent drawings and BIM documentation, developing CAD models, creating design documentation, and supporting Continuous Improvement efforts. The successful candidate will be a self‑starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Essential Responsibilities Prepare engineering drawings and create CAD models for waterslide supports, towers, and various elements Become proficient in the use of customized software in preparing engineering drawings for waterslide supports Prepare and coordinate BIM models related to project deliverables Coordinate drawing set releases for project deliverables Coordinate work with other related discipline engineers, drafters, and departments Perform drafting checks on engineering drawings and CAD models Review structural drawings to identify pre‑engineered manufactured parts Contribute to the development of departmental teamwork and efforts to improve efficiency, including continuous improvements to design and drafting processes Use Non‑Compliance Reporting (NCR) / Opportunity for Improvement (OFI) procedures. Execute responsibilities according to lawful and ethical standards Engage in continuous improvement of self and team Respect people through positive communication, consideration, and cooperation Maintain and follow best practices in Engineering, Customer Service, Quality, Lean Management, and Safety Define and align personal development goals with departmental goals Qualifications & Experience Diploma in Civil / Structural Engineering Technology or extensive equivalent experience Degree in Civil Engineering with specialization in Structural Engineering Proficiency with CAD software, including AutoCAD and SolidWorks Knowledge of Revit and/or other BIM related software Knowledge of drawings standards (ASME Y14.100) would be a definite asset. Competencies and Skills Exposure to construction projects would be a definite asset Proficiency in Microsoft Office Curious, with the desire to understand and a passion to learn Ability to develop effective internal and external working relationships Exceptional ability to listen, communicate (written and oral), and collaborate Ability to work independently and as part of a team; self‑starter and energetic Detail‑oriented with an eye for improvement opportunities Ability to motivate and contribute as a team member in a positive and results‑oriented team environment Knowledge of or experience with Mechanical Engineering would be an asset More than willing to lead by example, hands‑on, roll up your sleeves, and do what it takes to get the job done Knowledge of or experience with Mechanical Engineering would be an asset Must be legally eligible to work in Canada WhiteWater Competencies Accountability – We do what we say.
