Environmental Services II – Cleaner/HousekeeperAlberta Health Services (AHS) is seeking a dependable, highly motivated individual for the Environmental Services II position located at the University of Alberta Hospital. The role involves routine and isolation cleaning protocols, disinfecting patient rooms, clinical spaces, common areas, floor maintenance, and use of medical equipment. Responsibilities include handling of powered industrial equipment, training of new staff, and compliance with AHS standards.ResponsibilitiesPerform routine and isolation cleaning of patient rooms, clinical spaces, and common areas.Maintain floors using industrial cleaning equipment and thorough washing of ceilings and windows.Empty hazardous waste and operate chemical cleaners.Create a clean, safe environment where patients, staff, and visitors are present.Assist in training and orientation of Environmental Services staff.Required QualificationsCompletion of Grade 10 or equivalent.Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office.Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods.Physical capability to lift, push, and pull up to 30 lbs.Minimum 1 year of environmental cleaning experience in a hospital or institution.Capability to read, write, speak, understand, and follow written and oral directions in English.Dependable and able to work with minimal supervision.Knowledge and operation of powered industrial equipment.Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs frequently.Preferred QualificationsPrevious knowledge of WHMIS.Completion of Ergonomics and Workplace Health and Safety courses.Experience operating and maintaining industrial equipment such as auto‑scrubbers and burnishers.Experience with floor refinishing, stripping, and waxing.Classification: Environmental II | Union: AUPE GSS | Unit & Program: Linen & Environmental Services | FTE: 1.0 | Hours per Shift: 7.75 | Salary: $20.06 – $21.93/hr | Vehicle Requirement: Not Applicable #J-18808-Ljbffr
