The Position We are searching for a Program Manager on our Robotics & Space Operations team at our Brampton office. With 40 years of operational experience and proven performance on the iconic Canadarm programs including Space Shuttle and International Space Station robotics and operations support, our Robotics & Space Operations team has 100% mission success in making space dreams come true. As our Program Manager, you will manage space programs for domestic and international customers that include opportunities related to new R&D, servicing the International Space Station, commercial space companies, and deep space exploration. Responsibilities Demonstrate leadership across the organization, promoting common core values Lead multi-disciplinary program teams to meet technical, schedule, cost, and revenue requirements in a FFP contract environment. Identify and manage program risks and opportunities, implement mitigation actions, prioritize work, resolve and/or escalate issues, and manage customer expectations Lead negotiation and discussion sessions with customers to reach an agreement on all aspects of the program Maintain hands-on control of the program through a process of regular program reviews, design reviews, audits, staff meetings, and other program meetings Maintain program visibility at the customer level through regular technical, management, and progress meetings. Liaise with customers to maintain effective relationships to instill and enhance the customer’s confidence in MDA’s quality systems and products Develop and maintain close working relationships with Quality Assurance, Finance, Project Planning and Control, Contracts, Engineering, Manufacturing, and New Business Development Review program financial information and generate monthly program reports to senior management Experience Minimum 5 years Program Management experience in Space, Aerospace, or Defense sector with a project or portfolio size of at least $10M Proven success in leading complex cross-functional teams to plan and execute projects of $10M or greater from inception to delivery, covering design & development, procurement, manufacturing, testing, and integration Strong knowledge of program management best practices, MS Project, earned value methodology, negotiations, risk management, contract management, subcontract management, financials, and ITAR regulations Desired Knowledge Expertise in Space, Aerospace, or Defense industry’s gated process Understanding of contracts and security regulations like ITAR PMP certification (desirable but not mandatory) Familiarity with CSA, NASA, ESA standards is an asset Requirements At least 5 years of Program Management experience in high-value programs Ability to travel as required Must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) Additional Information We are an equal opportunity employer prizing diversity, integrity, and collaboration.
