Our customers are leaders in their industries and rely on us to deliver on time and on budget.Major dutiesLead the charge in sourcing and developing top-tier suppliers by providing expert guidance on technology, performance, quality, cost, logistics and delivery.Partner closely with engineering teams and suppliers to drive innovation while elevating process and quality standards.Monitor industry advancements and recommend technologies that enhance cost effectiveness, product quality, and supply chain reliability.Be a catalyst for change by actively contributing to ongoing continuous improvement initiatives.Work directly with suppliers to boost their quality output and shipping performance.Champion ABM initiatives.Conduct supplier audits to ensure full compliance with relevant industry standards and certifications (ISO 9001, CSA N299, CSA N285, NQA-1).Specific ResponsibilitiesStrictly follow CSA N285/NQA Quality requirements as defined within the manual and procedures.Improve KPI performance through existing supplier development (e.g., OTD, conformance to specifications, receiving issues).Perform rough-cut capacity planning and resolve gaps at ATS-approved suppliers.Benchmark new potential suppliers (pre-audit).Deliver and follow up on supplier scorecards.Engage suppliers to ensure both ATS and suppliers are informed and in compliance with change management.Develop and maintain knowledge of technological developments and trends for guidance of commodity teams in design, quality, and manufacturing improvements.Act as a consultant to communicate and coach the Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering and Procurement organizations to drive cost-effective improvements (VA/VE) to quality and manufacturing processes, minimize waste, introduce new products and improve product design.Identify value-add opportunities within the existing supplier base.Support Product Sourcing Strategy and provide technical leadership in new supplier selection.Support new business ramp with suppliers (drawing reviews, inspection plans, etc.).Assist the Quality Department with SCAR resolution, complex NCRs, external supplier training, and audits as assigned by the Quality Manager.Review and approve FAI’s, deviations, process change notifications and corrective actions.Identify cost savings opportunities.Travel will be required to local and international destinations.QualificationsEducation:A post-secondary technology diploma or equivalent, specializing in toolmaking, machining, welding or mechanical engineering, mechanical technologist, quality engineering or equivalent work experience is required.ASQ CQE or ASQ SSBB or equivalent work experience is required.Nuclear Auditor training and qualification.Experience:Six Sigma experience is an asset.Strong problem-solving skills.Ability to work as part of a cross-functional team.Understanding of change management principles and Change Agent skills.JD Edwards or similar ERP systems – data mining and report generation.Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint – intermediate level.At least 5 years in nuclear environment or other highly regulatory industry.At least 5 years of quality assurance engineering experience in a manufacturing and/or fabrication environment.Experience with Nuclear requirements relating to Quality and Inspection plans.Demonstrated ability to work independently and to manage multiple projects from various diverse organizations.Strong working knowledge and experience with ISO 9001, N299, NQA-1, 10CFR50, 10CFR21, N285, N286, B51 and ASME Section III guidelines.Commercial Grade Dedication background and experience.Capable of being certified to Jaeger-1 Test Chart and Bausch and Lomb Vision test (including color and distance vision).Why should you join ATS Industrial Automation?Be a part of an engaged, empowered and innovative global workforce.Robust total rewards package including competitive starting salaries, comprehensive health and dental benefits, overtime pay, employee bonus, RSP matching, and Employee Share Purchase Program.Perks such as treat days, gourmet coffee and beverages, subsidized meals, employee referral bonuses and more.Commitment to professional growth and development through internal career opportunities and educational reimbursement.ATS is in compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA), 2005 and will, upon request, assist those who may require specific accommodations due to a personal disability.
