This is a hybrid role to identify, qualify, and build relationships with founder-led software companies for potential acquisition across North America, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand. You will research markets, prospect and qualify opportunities, and nurture relationships through persistent outreach to build a strong pipeline of potential investment opportunities. This role requires visiting the Toronto office 3-4 times per month.What You AreYou have proven experience in business development or sales, gained in corporate finance, management consulting, software sales, asset/wealth management, or a related field. You bring business acumen and relationship-building skills to engage founder-led companies, qualify opportunities, and maintain momentum through thoughtful outreach.What’s In It For YouExposure and impact by working directly with founders and executive teams of potential acquisition targets. Aquila, and Constellation Software, have a long track record in software acquisitions and growth, with support from experienced leaders and mentors.How You Will Make An ImpactDeal sourcing and relationship building with founder-led software companies through outbound channels and networks. Position Aquila as a long-term capital partner and build trusted relationships with C-suite executives and intermediaries.Research, analysis, and screening of product, market, and financial opportunities. Use tools such as CapIQ, SourceScrub, Salesforce, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator to source and assess prospects.CRM and process management to maintain pipeline, document conversations, and ensure data accuracy and reporting consistency.Cross-functional collaboration with senior M&A and business operations leaders across Aquila’s global portfolio to align on opportunities and support decision-making.You Will BringExperience in business development, investment banking, M&A, private equity, venture capital, or B2B account management. Ability to analyze markets, products, and financials and apply quantitative reasoning to strategic decisions.Strong interpersonal skills to engage with C-suite executives, build trust, manage objections, and sustain conversations.Intrinsic motivation, ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, and willingness to pursue commissions tied to leads and conversions.Based in the GTA, Canada, with comfort working remotely and occasional travel to events and meetings.Why JoinAquila is a division of Constellation Software Inc., one of the largest software companies in Canada.
