Senior Analyst Bedside Medical Device Integration (BMDI) - One Person One Record Nova Scotia Health is the largest provider of health services in Nova Scotia, with some specialized services also offered to clients throughout Atlantic Canada. About The Opportunity The IMIT/OPOR BMDI Sr. Systems Analyst (SA) / Business Analyst (BA) reports to an IMIT/OPOR Manager, and is responsible for the evaluation, design, testing, implementation, maintenance and support of information management and medical device technology solutions, projects and services across NSH, IWK and many external clients. The role collaborates with key clinical and business stakeholders throughout the province as the organization, in partnership with the province’s Internal Services Department and the Department of Health and Wellness, moves toward rationalising disparate systems and implementing the OPOR strategy. Responsibilities include: Evaluating requests for change, data retrieval and optimisation opportunities; Troubleshooting and assisting with the resolution of application errors and other system issues; Developing materials and communicating system changes to end users; Building and maintaining system configuration items in line with best practice and stakeholder approvals; Ensuring all activities within the responsible area are supported by the NSH IMIT/OPOR business plan, established policies/procedures and service‑level agreements between NSH, IWK and the Department of Health and Wellness. About You Degree or diploma in an Information Technology, Business Analysis or Health‑related discipline. Consideration may be given to those with equivalent training and relevant experience. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Technology, Business Analysis or Health‑related field. 2+ years’ experience in application programming, systems analysis, business analysis or systems support. Experience and/or training with healthcare information systems and terminology an asset. Experience and/or training with medical device systems and medical device integrations an asset. Certification in Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) and/or Certified Biomedical Engineering Technologist (CBET) considered an asset. Certification in IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Project Management (PMP) and/or organisational change management an asset. Experience supporting clinical application systems and related services in a complex health‑care organisational environment considered an asset. Ability to relay or explain complex issues or difficult scenarios to clinical and business staff. Working knowledge of basic systems principles, theories and concepts within healthcare. Strong knowledge of healthcare and technology industry best practice relating to software applications. Ability to solve a range of complex problems; identify innovative solutions and use clinical best‑practice knowledge of internal and/or external business issues to improve service. Experience creating summary documentation based on evaluation and analysis. Ability to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders to solve high‑risk, complex issues. Experience in transformational or process analysis to support change‑management principles. Organisational skills, high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to clearly communicate NSH vision, mission and values. Experience in working with patient‑care leaders. Hours Temporary, Full‑time; 75 hours bi‑weekly. Assignment approximately 12 months. Compensation And Benefits $38.36 – $47.95 hourly. Successful candidates may be eligible for the benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long‑term disability and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan. (Permanent long assignments only). This position may also be eligible for a market adjustment of approximately $XXX.XX bi‑weekly; eligibility is reviewed periodically.
