Job Skills / Requirements We are hiring a Security Guard to work at Bow Valley College and/or other sites. Our Guards work in diverse settings including retail centres, high‑rise and low‑rise office buildings, and other commercial or residential locations. The role is dynamic, physically demanding, and requires availability for day, overnight, weekend and holiday shift rotations. Typical Duties & Responsibilities Provide exceptional customer service and build effective relationships with clients and patrons. Conduct proactive patrols to ensure safety, address policy breaches, and report concerns. Respond to security alarms and emergencies promptly and professionally. De‑escalate crisis situations, offer support, and coordinate with police, fire, and paramedic services. Exercise crowd control and remove trespassers when necessary. Prepare clear, detailed incident, emergency, liability, and daily activity reports. Provide first aid medical assistance when required. Use two‑way radios and computer systems to communicate site activities. Manage Lost & Found items and inquiries. Job Requirements Valid Alberta Security License or eligibility to obtain one. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong customer service abilities. Sharp observational skills and high attention to detail. Ability to make quick, sound decisions while staying calm under pressure. Physically able to walk 18–20 km and navigate stairs. Legally authorized to work in Canada.
