OverviewStructural Restoration Engineer, Buildings at WSP in Canada. Located in Vancouver, this role is part of the Structural Restoration Engineering Group and reports to a Senior Engineer, Structural Restoration. The position involves working with a multi-disciplinary team to take innovative design solutions from the proposal stage through to constructed projects for clients across a wide variety of sectors, with a significant client-facing component to grow industry networks.What you’ll doLead projects from initial client contact to proposal through project close outDevelop elegant solutions for heritage structures and existing buildings, including upgrades and expansionsOversee and investigate structural assessments of existing structures needing repair or condition assessmentFind creative solutions in complex environments in response to as-built site conditions or project constraints in collaboration with the project team and other disciplinesPerform engineering calculations and assessments for wood, steel, concrete and masonry structures with guidance from Senior EngineersDemonstrate strong capabilities in seismic design and knowledge of BCBC and NBC in relation to upgrades and additions of existing structuresDevelop and submit proposals to existing and prospective clientsMentor junior team members to encourage team engagement and growthOversee the execution of efficient and accurate project deliverables to high standardsOversee preparation of drawings, sections and standard details, and ensure quality adherenceOversee and prepare written reports and drawings packages as required by each project and clientAdvance computational design and interactions between graphical and analytical structural modelsOccasional travel within Canada for project work, site assessments and site supportConduct site inspections, condition assessments, reporting, specifications and proposalsSupport diversity and inclusion in design and project workAbout YouBachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Structural EngineeringRegistered Professional Engineer with EGBC5+ years of experience in Structural Engineering with experience in Structural RestorationComputational design skills with Etabs, SAP2000, RAM and/or Robot; familiarity with Dynamo, GrasshopperExperience on projects including institutional, healthcare, government, transportation, industrial or private sector commercial, residential and strataDedicated team player with strong people skills, empathetic mindset and service excellenceExcellent organizational and technical writing skillsSalary range (in British Columbia): $105,800 to $145,400. The final salary may vary based on education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, and business needs.
