Job DetailsRequisition Number: 28684Company: W Electric Canada Inc (Westinghouse Electric Canada, Inc.)Location: Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Employment Addresses: 678 Neal Drive, Peterborough, ON K9J 6X7Terms: Full-time / Permanent, 40 hours/week, English languageSalary Range: $120,400 CAD to $180,600 CAD per annumPosition SummaryThe Deputy Plant Manager/Leader is responsible for on‑site day‑to‑day management, planning, and execution of manufacturing nuclear power plant products at the Peterborough site. The role promptly resolves issues and escalates high‑level concerns to the Plant Director for collaboration and resolution.Day‑to‑day DutiesDirect and manage plant operations for continuous improvement in safety, environmental compliance, production, maintenance, quality, and shipping/receiving.Coordinate plant activities, set deadlines, and ensure objectives are met in a safe and effective manner. Work with the Plant Leader/Director to align operations with overall GOS objectives and strategy.Assist the Plant Director in developing the financial plan and budget; implement effective cost‑control systems over capital, operating expenditures, labor, wages, and salaries to meet profitability and financial objectives.Assure site compliance with all established company, corporate, and governmental safety and environmental regulations.Maintain and develop existing plant facilities and equipment; coordinate capital investment for long‑term capacity and capability.Lead, coach, develop, and manage direct reports and the organization to achieve goals and continuously improve effectiveness and efficiency.Make educated business decisions using financial, QEHS, people, and customer data aligned with strategy.Represent the plant to internal and external stakeholders; conduct presentations, meetings, and communications at all corporate levels.Lead continuous‑improvement projects, strategic initiatives, and cross‑functional teams.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Material Science, Manufacturing Management, or equivalent experience.Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible manufacturing experience, including managing and mentoring direct reports.Manufacturing excellence acumen and application of modern techniques for continuous productivity improvement.Strong employee relations skills; ability to maintain positive relations with local unions.Excellent collaboration skills across the organization and unions.Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and exercise autonomy over strategy and forecasting.Leadership skills to champion a results‑oriented culture, motivate, coach, and maximize performance.Effective written and oral communication skills.Financial acumen to analyze and interpret budgets, financial reports, and translate information into action.Technical expertise and continuous learning mindset.Talent management skills to develop workforce.Strong problem‑solving, reasoning, decision‑making, determination, drive, and time‑management abilities.Why Westinghouse?Westinghouse believes in fostering an inclusive, globally connected workplace that empowers employees through coaching and development.
