Job DescriptionAECOM’s Markham office is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer for our growing water and wastewater electrical team in the Water Group. The Water group delivers engineering, architectural, and project management services for vertical construction projects, including water/wastewater facilities, commercial, institutional, and transit facilities. Major Responsibilities Develop technical memoranda, design development, facility electrical system assessments, and design-build/assist scope of work documents. Prepare electrical design reports, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates during primary and detail design stages. Create detailed MV and LV power distribution drawings, process control schematics, lighting, fire alarm, and specialty low-voltage rough-ins. Support all project phases through technical and administrative assistance. Conduct site inspections to capture field as-built data. Coordinate with equipment manufacturers for design data integration. Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards. Attend client, consultant, and contractor meetings; provide technical support and respond to queries. Coordinate with hydro utility suppliers for incoming power services. Handle construction administration tasks: site inspections, shop drawing reviews, RFI responses, CCN preparation, change quotation reviews, progress billing, and commissioning of FAT/SAT. Qualifications Minimum Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and registration as a Professional Engineer in Ontario. At least six (6)+ years of engineering consulting experience, preferably in water and wastewater infrastructure. Preferred Qualifications Ten (10)+ years of consulting experience in the water & wastewater sector. Familiarity with OESC, OBC, IEEE, NFPA, ASHRAE, CSA, and other industry standards. Experience leading electrical design on water & wastewater projects. Design expertise for MV/LV power systems, substation components, motor control schematics, and process/HVAC systems. Proficiency with power analysis tools (SKM, ETAP) and studies (short-circuit, arc-flash, harmonic, load flow). Strong technical writing, spreadsheet, and calculation skills. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork. Additional certifications (PMP, LEED) and instrumentation/control design experience are a bonus.
