Psychologist II – Forensic Assessment Outpatient Service Alberta Health Services is seeking a Psychologist II with expertise in forensic assessment and treatment for offenders. This 0.5 FTE part‑time role is located in the Sunridge Professional Building and requires a doctoral degree in psychology and active registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists. Responsibilities Provide individual and group psychotherapy, family and behavioral therapy to offenders. Conduct psychological assessments for general offenses, domestic violence, sexual violence, cognitive functioning, personality, vocational, and organicity screening. Prepare court reports for pre‑sentence disposition, risk/recidivism management, and pre‑trial fitness. Contribute to program development, quality improvement, staff training and in‑service education. Supervise doctoral‑level residents, master’s interns, provisional psychologists, psychometrists and other team members as required. Required Qualifications Completion of a doctoral degree in Psychology from a CPA or APA program. Active or eligible registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP). Completion of an approved CPA/APA doctoral internship with a focus in Forensic Mental Health. At least 3 years of recent forensic psychology experience. Proficiency with actuarial risk assessment tools (e.g., HCR-20 V3, STATIC-99R, STABLE, SARA-V3). Experience writing clinical assessment reports for criminal court proceedings. Strong therapeutic skill set working with offender populations and excellent communication, interviewing and writing skills. Preferred Qualifications Minimum 1 year experience as a Registered Psychologist in a mental health setting within the last 5 years. Community forensic experience. Training and experience in group therapy, TF-CBT, CBT, DBT and evidence-based modalities. Experience in Non-violent Crisis Intervention within the last 2 years. Full registration with CAP preferred.
