Primary Job Title Risk Analyst Alternate / Related Job Titles Financial Crime Analyst AML Risk Analyst Compliance Operations Analyst Location Toronto, ON Onsite Flexibility Hybrid (2 days in office; transitioning to 4 days in office end of January) Contract Details Position Type: Contract Contract Duration: 6 months Start: As Soon As Possible Pay Rate: C$25–30/hr Job Summary The Risk Analyst will support regulatory compliance and enhanced due diligence efforts by reviewing transactions, identifying anomalies, and evaluating potentially high-risk customer activity. This role operates a fast-paced, high-volume environment and requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet strict deadlines. Key Responsibilities Review transactions to identify anomalies and potential high-risk customer activity, supporting regulatory standards and enhanced due diligence. Conduct adjudications, analysis, and investigations of general queue cases, including recommendations for de-marketing or account freezes by appropriate investigative units. Provide analysis and data/evidence-gathering support for AML, Sanctions/ABAC Financial Crime, or digital evidence needs for case preparation and documentation. Prioritize incoming investigation requests in a high-volume operational setting. Identify and remediate customer profiles, which may include multiple products across business lines. Required Experience 0–2 years of industry experience (new graduates considered). Post‑secondary education preferred (any discipline). Nice-to-Have Experience Anti‑money laundering experience. Knowledge or experience with KYC. Previous banking or financial institution experience. CSCS or ACAMS certifications (asset). Required Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical thinking skills. Strong Excel skills. Preferred Skills Experience with MS Office Suite/PC applications. Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines. Strong decision‑making skills and sound judgment for escalation. Attention to detail and enhanced due diligence mindset. Additional Skills Quick learner with the ability to excel in a collaborative team setting. Ability to manage high-volume workloads.
