Temporary Full-time Senior High Generalist/Humanities TeacherPembina Hills School Division requires a Temporary Full-time Senior High Generalist/Humanities (ELA & Social Studies) Teacher for duties within Westlock Outreach School. Duties are to commence November 19, 2025 and will end June 25, 2026.Pembina Hills School Division operates two Outreach programs, one in Barrhead, and one in Westlock. These programs are alternative programs for those students whose personal circumstances make it difficult to successfully attend a traditional high school. These programs are designed to help students achieve both academically and socially.QualificationsMust hold a valid Alberta teaching certificateProficiency in the use of educational technologySuccessful classroom teaching experienceAbility to work as part of a teamUnderstanding and application of Assessment, Universal Design for Learning and Differentiated InstructionExperience with trauma-informed practices and mental health literacy is an assetThe Successful CandidateUnderstands the importance of strong staff-student relationships and how to establish boundariesWorks well in a collaborative team environmentIs familiar with trauma-informed practices and believes that all students are capable of learning and being successfulRecognizes the importance of establishing safe learning environments and classroom communities as the precursor to learningWill provide predictable and consistent support for all studentsWill be flexible in their approach to instruction and assessment, recognizing the value of assessment for and of learningWill program for students with an inclusive lens, ensuring opportunities with support for all studentsWill work well with community agencies to support the development of the whole childWill be comfortable taking students into the community for volunteering and educational opportunitiesHave a student first focus and a belief that all children can learn and succeedIs familiar with both Diploma and Knowledge of Employabilities pathways and the requirements for eachFor further information, please contact Colleen Teske, Principal at 780-307-0501.This competition will remain open until a suitable candidate is found.All staff are to be prepared to satisfactorily manage the inherent risks encountered in their work.
