Job SummaryWe are seeking a Senior Developer, QA Automation to build automated testing within our IT delivery teams. This role will focus on developing and maintaining automated test suites, enabling faster and more reliable software delivery.As a Senior Developer, QA Automation, this role will work alongside manual testers, developers, and business stakeholders to implement test automation frameworks, integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, and ensure high-quality software deployments.Duties & ResponsibilitiesArchitect and enhance test automation frameworks to ensure scalability, maintainability, and reusabilityLead the integration of automated testing in CI/CD pipelines across multiple teamsMentor and coach intermediate developers and manual testers transitioning to automationSupport automation solutions in production environments by troubleshooting and optimizing performanceContinuously evaluate and recommend adoption of AI-powered automation solutions and evolving QA technologiesCollaborate with business stakeholders and IT counterparts to assess automation opportunities, gather requirements, and implement solutions aligned with strategic goalsLaunch, support and optimize production automation solutions, including troubleshooting, creating monitoring, and improving system performanceDrive automation best practices and governance, contributing to documentation, process standardization, and compliance initiativesResearch and evaluate emerging technologies in AI, large language models (LLMs/SLMs), and process automation to enhance capabilitiesProvide technical guidance and mentorship to developers and other IT team members on automation technologies and implementation strategiesActively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety PolicyBehavioural CompetenciesConcern for Safety: Identifying hazardous or potentially hazardous situations and taking appropriate action to maintain a safe environment for self and others.Teamwork: Working collaboratively with others to achieve organizational goals.Passenger/Customer Service: Providing service excellence to internal and/or external customers (passengers).Initiative: Dealing with situations and issues proactively and persistently, seizing opportunities that arise.Results Focus: Focusing efforts on achieving high quality results consistent with the organization’s standards.Fostering Communication: Listening and communicating openly, honestly, and respectfully with different audiences, promoting dialogue and building consensus.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering, or equivalent6+ years of experience in test automation development, preferably with SeleniumProven track record of designing, implementing and improving automation frameworksStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to mentor manual testers transitioning to automationExperience in guiding technical discussions and decision-making across cross-functional teamsDemonstrated leadership in driving automation initiatives across teamsExperience in programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript for automation scriptingStrong understanding of software testing principles, including test case design, defect tracking, and test reportingHands-on experience with API testing using tools like Postman, RestAssured, or similar frameworksFamiliarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline for automated testing integrationKnowledge of performance testing tools such as JMeter or Gatling is a plusLocationToronto Downtown Office (250 Yonge Street) #LI-HybridCompany DescriptionSince 2006, Porter Airlines has been elevating the experience of economy air travel for every passenger, providing genuine hospitality with style, care and charm.
