Ensure suitable and sustainable RTW outcomes are achieved through customized coordination of the right services at the right time, and by applying a customer-centric approach. Achieve optimal outcomes and promote leading RTW practices through the delivery of innovative and specialized services.ResponsibilitiesOn a Practical Level, You WouldProvide information to the injured/ill person and their employer on the return-to-work process and educate both workplace parties on their rights and obligations.Identify issues that present obstacles to RTW and the interventions required to overcome them to achieve positive outcomes.Help the injured/ill person and their employer develop a plan for return to pre-injury job – with or without accommodations.Provide expert advice, vocational rehabilitation planning, and support for coordinating RTW, including possible accommodations or transition to a different job if necessary.Major Duties & ResponsibilitiesRepresent, promote and cultivate WSIB’s leading RTW brand and program, aligned with professional guidelines of organizations such as ISSA.Recommend and apply evidence-based practices to achieve optimal RTW outcomes and prevent injuries/diseases.Maintain professional credentials as required; obtain CDMP certification within the first three years of WSIB employment.Educate workplace parties on disability management, RTW principles, early and safe RTW benefits, and related rights and obligations under the WSIB Act and policies.Evaluate and interpret case needs with a disability-management lens and collaborate with internal/external customers to determine the best RTW approach.Plan, make and communicate RTW decisions, collaborate with stakeholders, and support implementation of RTW plans, including accommodations and assisting devices as needed.Coordinate case conferences, monitor RTW plans, and ensure ongoing communication among all parties.Manage caseload documentation and reporting in WSIB systems; respond to inquiries promptly and maintain an effective case-management system.Perform other related duties as assigned.Job RequirementsUniversity degree related to RTW or disability management.CDMP certification or completion within first three years of WSIB employment as RTW Specialist.Valid Ontario G class driver’s license or Class 5 (Quebec).OtherEducation equivalency may apply; additional experience may be considered in place of education on a 2:1 basis.One year of relevant experience in RTW, disability management, vocational rehabilitation, ADR, or clinical rehabilitation experience.Equity, Diversity and InclusionWSIB is committed to equity, diversity and inclusion and accessible employment practices under AODA.
