Under the guidance of the Senior Manager, Property Management, the Property Manager will act as a liaison and engages with tenants to deliver a high standard of customer service. Additionally, the Property Manager will evaluate and manage team members, financial resources, and provide direction to the staff to provide improvements.Property Manager with OCH:Understanding, resolving, and taking care of our tenants and communities are a main objective for our organization. With your compassion, problem solving abilities, and leadership skills you will shape our communities and bring positive change to the lives of our tenants.As a Property Manager, some of the things you do will include:Manage the delivery of various maintenance services for buildings and communitiesWork with stakeholders to ensure the maintenance of building fire life safety systemsManage contracted services, including procurement and evaluation of contractorsProvide information, education, and support to tenants on a range of community and corporate concernsDeliver high standards of customer serviceReceive, investigate, and respond to tenant inquiries and concernsIdentify and ensure the completion of all required checks, inspections, drills, and testsProvide leadership and management to staff within areas of responsibility, including evaluating work, setting work plans, and coachingPlan and manage human resources needs for assigned areas of responsibility, including hiring, termination, discipline, investigations and grievancesSupport the implementation of related projects and plansManage the effective and efficient operation of areas of responsibilityParticipate in Landlord and Tenant Board proceedings and facilitate evictions when necessaryEnsure appropriate inventory, cleanliness, and safetyMonitor expenditures and manage budgetsAs a Property Manager, you can look forward to:Unique and ever-changing work tasks every new dayPositive and rewarding interactions with both tenants and staffUsing your knowledge and skills to create a better world for our tenantsWhat you bring:Education & Experience:A typical candidate will have the following qualifications and experience. Exceptional candidates with different qualifications will be considered at the discretion of the employer if demonstrated experience, knowledge, and ability warrant.Completion of a post-secondary education in a related fieldA minimum of (5) years of related experience, including experience managing staffExperience managing staff in a unionized environment is an assetA Property Management designation, or an ability to work towards one is required (e.g., BOMI, RPA, FMA, CPM)Knowledge of best practices for maintaining building systems and maintenanceknowledge of cleaning services, pest management, snow removal, landscaping, and waste managementunderstanding of the diverse needs, abilities and social, economic, cultural and other factors present in OCHC tenant communitiesknowledge of energy conservation measures and strategiesknowledge of property risk management and emergency preparednessknowledge of Ontario Fire CodeKnowledge of project and time management practicesKnowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other standard corporate softwareFluency in English is requiredOral fluency and reading and writing abilities in French is preferred, but may be required to meet operational requirementsSkills and abilities:Ability to manage contractors, including the ability to evaluate and manage performanceAbility to influence and convey key messages in an effective and compassionate mannerUnderstanding of related contractual and legal documentsAbility to identify and implement ongoing business process improvementProficient in the use of information technology such as mobile devices and computer systems in the performance of workAbility to speak additional languages commonly used by OCH tenants is an assetOther requirements:Satisfactory Criminal Records CheckValid “G” driver’s license and use of a personal vehicle for business purposesAbility to work outside of regular business hours, including participating in an on-call rotationWork conditions:This is a full time, on site position.OCH is committed to providing accommodations for people with disabilities.
