Training Pay: $16 per hour for 2-6 weeks (no commissions or bonus). Average Annual Earning Potential After Training: $36,000 - $60,000+ (inclusive of base, commission, and bonus).Job Description details include responsibilities to create sales utilizing customer service and knowledge of the La‑Z‑Boy selling process, products and services, and to develop long-term customer relationships.Base and commission structure information is provided in the post-training and post-training pay sections below.Minimum requirements and preferred qualifications are listed to help assess fit for the role.We invite you to review the information below to understand what to expect in this role and the compensation framework.Key ResponsibilitiesContribute to store sales goals by selling furniture, accessories and services offered by La‑Z‑BoyPromote the Design program & assist the Designer to achieve established Design program sales goalsConsistently execute the La‑Z‑Boy selling process and strive to provide a favorable experience to all customersDevelop and utilize sales skills including approach, rapport building, needs discovery, customized presentations, handling objections, closing, follow-up, after-sale service and ongoing contact with customersMaximize store promotions, marketing initiatives, and grassroots programsMaintain strong knowledge of the features and benefits of existing and new product linesDesign ProgramSchedule professional home consultations to present customized room designs including fabrics, furniture, tables and accessory recommendations and professional installation servicesExecute and champion the Design process following company guidelinesSupport design-related functions in the storeCustomer FocusProvide the highest level of customer service to all customersEnsure an informative and positive customer experience by following the company selling processUse Podium to ensure customer satisfaction and future follow-upMake sound business decisions to deliver customer satisfaction and promote team environmentRespond to incoming phone calls and emails; assist in handling customer issues and/or complaints with appropriate solutionsPeopleMaintain positive working relationships with store staffAssist in training and coaching new peers on La‑Z‑Boy product knowledge and selling skillsPromote a culture of sales and serviceOperational ExcellenceAssist with maintenance of the store appearance, displays, product tagging, and general cleanlinessAccurately complete order information, collect deposits, maintain records and research payments/deliveriesOpen and close the store and maintain system logsMinimum RequirementsHigh School Diploma or equivalentPrevious selling experience and ability to close a sale strongly preferredExcellent communication, customer service and organizational skillsStrong interpersonal skills to communicate, build rapport, and positively influenceDemonstrated persuasion and negotiation skillsAbility to manage time and conflicting prioritiesTeam-oriented with the ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidaysInitiative to meet goals and drive resultsStrong attention to detailProficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)Preferred RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Business or a related fieldCompensation and Pay PracticesTraining Pay: $16 per hour for 2-6 weeks (no commissions or bonus)Average Annual Earning Potential After Training: $36,000 - $60,000 (base + commission and bonus)Total Compensation Range: $22,880 - $75,000+ (may be higher or lower based on location; will not pay less than state/local minimum wage)Post-Training Pay: Base Pay $11 per hour; UNCAPPED commission on written salesCommission: 3% on La-Z-Boy Design Sales; 2% on other sales; quarterly bonus up to $1,500 based on individual sales goalsIndividual pay is based on factors including location, performance, qualifications and experience.
