Talent Acquisition Lead @Galent (Formerly Diamondpick Inc) | Expert in Recruitment- US | Canada Job title: Java Backend Developer Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid - 4 days in office per week) Job summary: We are looking for an experienced and hands‑on Senior Java Backend Developer with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, Kafka, Azure and SQL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and developing scalable enterprise applications, mentoring junior developers, and supporting the complete SDLC including production support. Experience: 8+ years Required Skills: Java Spring Boot Microservices Kafka SQL Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise solutions using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices and Kafka Write clean, reusable, and well‑documented code along with unit test cases and use cases. Ensure high‑quality deliverables through unit testing and active participation in code reviews. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including QA, UAT, and business analysts to ensure timely and accurate delivery of solutions. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers and ensure best practices are followed. Take ownership of production issues, troubleshoot critical problems, and implement long‑term fixes to ensure high system availability. Engage in database design and optimization using SQL Server and ensure application performance tuning. Support the team in deployment activities using CI/CD tools and collaborate on DevOps practices.
