As part of HDR’s Transportation Business Group, you’ll help shape the systems that move people and goods safely, efficiently, and sustainably. Responsibilities Support transportation master plans, secondary plans, and environmental assessments. Conduct macroscopic travel demand modelling and analyze model outputs. Develop multimodal transportation options. Lead transit planning studies and business case development. Research and report on transportation best practices and emerging trends. Perform data processing, analytics, and visualization. Prepare materials for and attend client, public and stakeholder meetings. Write technical reports. Work with GIS/mapping tools. Perform traffic and microsimulation analysis (Synchro/Vissim/Aimsun). Conduct field surveys, observations, traffic modelling, and traffic operations analysis. Required Skills Self‑starter comfortable working in a team environment with strong interest in transportation solutions. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint). Experience with EMME, VISUM, Synchro, Aimsun, or Vissim (asset). Programming skills in Python and R (asset). Knowledge of AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and analytic tools such as Tableau or PowerBI (asset). Progressive and innovative problem‑solving approach (asset). Understanding of travel demand modeling, transit service planning, and active transportation (asset). Knowledge of MCEA, TPAP, TAC Manual, and MTO Geometrics Design Manual (asset). Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree (asset). Minimum of two years’ experience in transportation planning and engineering, including master/secondary plans, highway and transit infrastructure projects, environmental assessments, traffic operations studies, macro/meso/microsimulation modelling, transportation business cases, traffic impact studies, traffic safety, pedestrian and cycling studies, and traffic management plans. Experience with LRT, BRT, or subway/heavy rail projects (asset). Familiarity with planning policies and guiding documents in BC, ON, or AB (asset). Experience working on projects with public agencies in British Columbia, Ontario, or Alberta (asset). Eligible for future engineering licensure in Canada. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree.
