This role will be based in our Kings Langley office on a hybrid basis (3 days in the office) and will be offered on a 12-month fixed term contract basis. Role Summary We are seeking a Senior Sales Manager to join our dynamic team, reporting directly to the VP, Sales within Digital Solutions. This crucial role will expand our B2B footprint, driving revenue growth, and establishing long-term partnerships with renewable energy clients. The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of the renewable energy industry and expertise in sales operations and enablement, process optimization, data analytics, and bid and proposal management. Accountabilities Sales Leadership: Contribute to the development and execution of the sales strategy in alignment with the company's objectives Collaborate closely with the VP of Sales in leading and motivating the sales team, providing coaching and guidance Revenue Generation: Contribute significantly to the growth of the sales pipeline and revenue streams for the Digital Solutions business Identify and pursue new business opportunities, leveraging market insights and competitor analysis Account Management: Foster and nurture relationships with key accounts, understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions Gain a deep understanding of each key account's unique business objectives, challenges, and pain points to deliver customized solutions Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional products and services that go beyond client’s needs and expectations Conduct regular business reviews with key accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction and identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling Market Expansion: Leverage market intelligence to inform strategic decision‑making and identify new business opportunities and assist in identifying and entering new markets and customer pipelines Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive dynamics, and market developments within the renewable energy sector Actively participate in renewable energy industry events, conferences, and trade shows to increase brand visibility and generate leads Sales Execution Conduct presentations and product demonstrations to highlight the value and benefits of our software hardware/controls solutions Collaborate across Sales team in negotiating agreements with clients, ensuring favorable terms for the company Sales Performance Analysis: Support in the implementation of KPIs for accurate forecasting and tracking of sales targets Utilize CRM systems effectively to manage sales processes and drive efficiency Bid and Proposal Management: Play a key role in the bid and proposal management process, ensuring timely and high‑quality responses to requests for proposals (RFPs), requests for quotes (RFQs), and other commercial opportunities Team Development: Work closely with the VP of Sales in building and leading a high‑performing sales team Foster a collaborative team culture that encourages innovation and growth Knowledge, Skills, Experience Extensive experience in sales operations or related roles within the renewable energy industry or a comparable technology‑driven sector Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, Marketing, or a related field; MBA is a plus Proven track record of success in B2B sales, preferably software, hardware/controls within the renewable energy or technology sector Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functional teams Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and other sales enablement tools preferred In‑depth knowledge of sales and commercial processes, best practices, and the ability to deliver effective sales strategies In‑depth understanding of the renewable energy industry and market dynamics Strategic thinking with the ability to translate business objectives into actionable sales plans Experience working in a multicultural global environment Intellectual curiosity paired with a high growth‑mindset Strong influencing skills, with a reputation for getting things done effectively Team‑player with ability to dig into the details as well as see the big picture Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to navigate complex situations and effectively influence at all levels of an organisation Integrity, professionalism, and discretion when handling confidential information Comfortable to work in an ambiguous environment with a willingness to stretch yourself outside typical role boundaries Adaptive to rapid changes associated with start‑up environments and leverage a collaborative mindset to grow and help various teams cross‑functionally Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events Leadership Lives the Values; Enables Excellence; Demonstrates Active Care Fosters and demonstrates a workplace inclusive of creating opportunity, serving others, building trust, innovation, and exceeding expectations Participates in hiring and selection process to fill positions on the team Creates and regularly communicates a compelling vision of what’s possible and how to accomplish it Communicates regularly with direct reports on KPIs, goals, accomplishments, and information on policies Acts as mentor and coach to develop team and build capabilities for present and future Provides tasks and assignments that challenge and stretch employees’ responsibilities Conducts regular discussions with employee(s) on personal development.
