Job Description Responsible for assisting with the maintenance and upkeep of project vehicles and equipment by repairing all types of vehicles and equipment through inspection and servicing, holding performance testing and repairing defective vehicle components under the guidance of a 310T mechanic, and monitoring, diagnosing and repairing AVL and electronic driver’s logs. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Thoroughly inspect vehicles and equipment, detect malfunctions or damages, and perform repairs or replacements using proper tools and equipment under the guidance of a 310T mechanic. Monitor, diagnose and repair AVL systems. Monitor, diagnose and repair electronic driver’s logs. Diagnose problems and vehicle operation issues and recommend parts changes or other necessary services. Maintain daily maintenance records and prepare cost estimates for repairs and service requests; accuracy and timeliness are essential. Ensure all company vehicles and equipment are safe to pass inspections and comply with provincial standards and regulations under the guidance of a 310T mechanic. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to read and understand plans, material lists, and guidelines and meet timelines. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Problem-solving skills. Strong computer skills. Education and Experience High school or equivalent. 1+ year of experience. Driver’s License with good driving record (required). Work Conditions / Travel Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted. Use manual and powered tools and equipment (pneumatic, hydraulic, gas, electric). Routine exposure to outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold. Occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions; high places; fumes or airborne particles. Noise level typically moderate, with potential for higher levels. Available for emergency response rotations and overtime, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Practice safe work methods to prevent accidents and injuries. Ability to recognize hazards and adjust work to avoid loss or injury.
