Postdoctoral Research Fellow – Bioinformatics Join to apply for the Postdoctoral Research Fellow – Bioinformatics role at The University of British Columbia. The Capon lab investigates the determinants of skin inflammation, with a view to identifying new disease drivers and therapeutic targets. Our multidisciplinary team integrates expertise in genetics, immunology, and bioinformatics and works in close collaboration with expert dermatologists. We are currently looking to recruit a postdoctoral fellow in bioinformatics. The successful candidate will lead the analysis of T‑cell transcriptional networks in atopic dermatitis. For individuals with a life‑science background, there is also scope to experimentally validate their computational findings. This is a full‑time, grant‑funded position within the Centre for Molecular Medicine and Therapeutics at the University of British Columbia. Responsibilities Planning and implementing the analysis of omics datasets. Interpreting results and designing follow‑up experiments. Participating in the preparation of scientific manuscripts. Keeping accurate records of computational analyses and scripts. Presenting results and participating in weekly lab meetings. Contributing to lab chores and ordering. Performing other related duties as needed or requested. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Ph.D. in a relevant life science or computational discipline (e.g., immunology, bioinformatics). At least 3 years of computational experience. Ability to work within a team and interact with people from diverse backgrounds. Good record‑keeping and attention to detail. Ability to write and communicate clearly. Preferred Qualifications Experience with high‑performance computer clusters. Experience with analysis of large datasets. Good understanding of immunology. Laboratory experience is a plus. Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities.
