As a result, career advancement is based on your success at the company but is unlimited.The ideal candidate for this dynamic and challenging role should be capable of the following:LeadershipMentoring, training and supervising of staffEnsuring assigned employees are trained in and maintain company procedures, health & safety protocols, and programsContinue the ongoing development of our geotechnical team through supporting and encouraging technical upgrading and providing direction and mentorship on complex issues and field investigationsBusiness DevelopmentPreparation of proposals and RFP responsesAbility to connect with clients regularly and attract new businessProject ManagementScheduling projectsAssigning work to staff as appropriate depending on workloads and in conjunction with the Operations ManagerPreparing contract documents, proposals, and reportsProviding clients with advice on appropriate regulations and guidelinesTechnical Engineering DutiesManage and/or review projects from the proposal stage through to completion, including allocation of budgets, personnel and resources, billing and client relationships.Maintain technical proficiency, including participation in professional practice groups and organizationsParticipate in the preparation and presentation of training programsFinancial PerformanceWork with the Operations Manager and/or Director on updating the Geotechnical budget for the regionBuilding strong relationships with management of the geotechnical and other Pinchin service lines, including finding opportunities for partnership between the servicesHelp administrative staff with accounts receivables as requiredReview of cost estimates/proposals for potential clientsQualificationsDemonstrated leadership and business development skills.University degree in Geotechnical, Civil or Geological Engineering or related degree and experience.Minimum 10 - 15 years’ experience in a geotechnical engineering.A Professional Engineering Designation in Alberta or be eligible to register with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientist of Alberta.Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams both internally and Externally.Strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to communicate effectively, as well as proactively respond to clients on time sensitive items.Proven technical writing skillsWhat Pinchin Offers YouA challenging, rewarding leadership position with the opportunity to mentor junior technical professionalsCompetitive compensation, benefits, and Extended group benefits (we pay the premium) with no waiting periodMembership in our internal Communities of Practice, a national support network for technical problem solving and collaboration led by our top technical expertsCasual dress codeProfit share bonuses and an RRSP Matching ProgramFlexible workplace to support work life balanceVarious professional development and employee recognition programsEducational and professional membership dues reimbursementEmployee Referral Bonus ProgramCorporate Discount ProgramPlease note that our recruitment process may involve online testing, depending on the position.
