Fortis Mining, Engineering, & Manufacturing is growing, and we’re on the lookout for a passionate, detail‑driven Construction Miner whose primary responsibility is performing a variety of tasks within a wide range of projects including underground construction, development mining, conventional mining, and mine rehabilitation. The tasks are varied and are subject to the type of mine site and the requirements of the specific project. The Construction Miner is required to adhere to company and mine site health and safety standards, always following safe work practices. Why You’ll Love Working Here Collaboration – complementary Group of Companies servicing the mining and construction industries Innovation – if it doesn’t exist, we will engineer and manufacture it Excellence – be a part of an industry leader in quality, safety, and integrity Culture – a diverse team that values collaboration, innovation, and community What You’ll Be Doing Duties are specific to the mine site and project, including but not limited to: Operation of underground equipment such as scoops and skid steers Use of torches to cut and burn Operation of drills, jacklegs, stopers Removal and installation of underground conveyor systems Installation and rehabilitation of structural components Performing required maintenance and inspection on tools and equipment to ensure they operate in a safe manner as per manufacturer specifications Performing other onsite duties as required Safe Work Practices Adhere to all health and safety policy and safe work practices as required by the mine site and the company.
