Housing & Health Nurse (Multiple Positions) BC Housing, a provincial Crown Corporation, provides subsidised housing across British Columbia. This role supports the housing continuum from emergency shelter to rental assistance, ensuring safe, affordable housing for Canadians. Position Summary Reporting to the assigned supervisor, the Housing & Health Nurse (HHN) is responsible for providing assessment and consultative services for applicants and tenants with complex social and healthcare needs, and/or behavioural problems. The HHN delivers training programs, critical event stress‑management defusing services, and coordinates care with regional health authorities, non‑profit housing societies, and co‑operative housing groups. The position is open to Registered Nurses (RN) or Registered Psychiatric Nurses (RPN) and provides direct service delivery to clients participating in BC Housing Programs. Responsibilities Assess and consult with clients on psychiatric and social health needs. Deliver training programs and critical‑event stress management defusing services. Coordinate referrals and liaise with regional health authorities and community agencies. Provide clinical oversight to Housing and Health Services staff. Prepare and submit assessment and consultation reports within established timelines. Maintain current registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives. Travel as required; support external referrals and attend periodic evening shifts. Respond to emergency and time‑sensitive situations with a valid BC driver’s licence and reliable vehicle. Candidate Profile Education & Experience Degree in Nursing (RN) or Psychiatric Nursing (RPN). Eligibility to practice nursing in British Columbia. Extensive experience working with psychiatric disorders and complex social or health‑care needs. Or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience accepted by the employer. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Comprehensive knowledge of medical and psychiatric conditions, medications, and alternative treatments. Understanding of psychosocial rehabilitation principles and mental health housing models. Proficiency in crisis intervention, referral coordination, and effective communication. Ability to conduct assessments, prepare reports, and prioritize workload. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team. Proficient in MS Office applications. Valid BC driver’s licence and reliable vehicle for emergency response. Criminal Record Check required.
