The Retest – Plant Operator will be responsible for the handling and movement of cylinders of Medical, Industrial and Specialty Gases of all sizes, making them ready and supplying them to customers at the right time and quality. This position consists of maintaining cylinders safely to satisfy customer expectations and improve quality of operations, while promoting Alc’s quality, safety and environmental objectives. Responsibilities Constant bending, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, lifting and handling high‑pressure cylinders over the allocated work hours while following Air Liquide safety requirements. Ensure cylinder maintenance: install valves, replace defective safeties, stems, packing nuts and handles on cylinder valves, prepare cylinders for shot blasting by scraping decals. Inspect cylinders that have been shot blasted and segregate damaged cylinders for repair. Assess cylinders for testing by operating valving/devalving equipment, using borescope to inspect the interior, and operating shot blast equipment and painting equipment. Perform quality tests such as proper labeling, proper painting of cylinder, bar‑coding and release of quality product meeting deadlines. Maintain a clean work area and any other area which may be assigned. Prepare, inspect, set up, monitor and operate retest centre equipment. Communicate with maintenance and management on issues concerning cylinders and equipment in the proper channel. Maintain and improve efficiency standards through teamwork. Qualifications Diploma: high‑school diploma. Training: Quality System (ISO), safety, forklift truck and electric pallet jack. Knowledge of compressed gases, written and oral communication skills, mathematical skills, handling and transporting dangerous materials. Continuous handling and movement of 50 lb is necessary. TDG certification & WHMIS would be an asset. 3 to 5 years of experience in the industrial sector. Our differences make our performance.
