This role requires a solid working knowledge of GAAP and strong financial analysis skills.YOU AREHands-on with day-to-day accounting functionsExcellent with time management and have strong organizational skillsAdaptable in environments with shifting priorities and a deadline-driven settingTeam player with a collaborative mindsetAbility to work cross-functionally and solve problems creativelyRESPONSIBILITIESAssist with full-cycle accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of restaurantsPrepare monthly and annual reconciliations of key balance sheet accounts, journal entries (including inventory and accruals), and supporting working papersContribute to the preparation of month-end reporting packages and related financial analysisSupport accounts payable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices and paymentsAssist with tax compliance, including GST/HST/PST returns and coordination with tax preparers and external auditorsMentor and provide day-to-day support to junior accounting staffSupport the finance team with ad-hoc reporting and special projectsIdentify and implement improvements to accounting systems, processes, and reporting workflowsQUALIFICATIONS3+ years of intermediate accounting experienceUniversity degree in accounting; CPA designation (in progress or completed) preferredSolid experience in full-cycle accountingFamiliarity with Xero and/or hospitality industry experience is an assetStrong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP), business finance, and applicable tax lawsProficiency in Microsoft ExcelLOCATIONThis hybrid role requires a minimum of 3 days on-site at our Vancouver, BC office.COMPENSATIONBase Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000Seniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionAccounting/Auditing and FinanceIndustriesHospitalityWe’re unlocking community knowledge in a new way.
