Join to apply for the Contract Administrator-Transportation role at GHD2 days ago Be among the first 25 applicantsJoin to apply for the Contract Administrator-Transportation role at GHDJob DescriptionOur Construction Phase Services group located in ourJob DescriptionOur Construction Phase Services group located in our Markham, Whitby, Toronto, and Mississauga Offices is looking for a Contract Administrator to work as part of a contract administration team on Highway / Road / Bridge construction projects.Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:Responsible for Contract Administration of civil provincial and municipal infrastructure projectsLiaise with the Project Managers, designers, field inspectors, contractors and clients on a daily basis.Work with the Construction Administration Project Management staff in the overall management of staff and departmental initiatives.Work with Project Management staff to develop project policies and procedures related to quality, safety, the environment, and professional ethics.Supervise and direct field staffConduct Constructability Reviews as required on Highway and Bridge projects.Liaise with Clients for future Construction work.ResponsibilitiesExternal Communications: Help others get the most out of external communications systems by offering support and advice.Construction Management: Supervise others on a construction project, working within established operational systems.Health, Safety, and Environment: Follow the organization's health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the well-being of self and others in the workplace; instruct the team in safe working methods; identify instances of risky behaviors within the team and take appropriate action, escalating serious issues as appropriate.Work Scheduling and Allocation: Assign short-term work schedules to a team of subordinates in order to achieve expectations while following established timelines.Leadership and Direction: Communicate the local action plan; explain how this relates to the function's strategy and action plan and to the broader organization's mission and vision; motivate people to achieve local business goals.Performance Management: Respond to personal objectives and use performance management systems to improve personal performance; or monitor the performance of the team, allocate work and review completion, take appropriate corrective action to ensure timeliness and quality, and contribute to formal individual performance management and appraisal.Organizational Capability Building: Provide coaching to team members to develop their skills.Operational Compliance: Identify, within the team, instances of noncompliance with the organization's policies and procedures and/or relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, reporting these instances and escalating issues as appropriate.Quality Assurance: Plan and coordinate testing and inspection of products and processes. Implement corrective actions or continuous improvement initiatives and monitor them to make sure they are effective.What you will bring to the team:OACETT ‘rcca’ designation, or Professional Engineers Ontario designation as a P.Eng.Minimum 10 years’ experience in Civil Engineering Infrastructure, with a substantial focus on Highway and Bridge construction.Minimum 2 projects’ experience as a Contract Administrator on MTO, Regional or Municipal contracts with construction value greater than $10-million.Proven aptitude for estimating construction schedule, quantities and costs.Experience with progress payments, change orders, leading site meetings, preparation of minutes, and providing guidance to field staff in relation to contracts.Excellent organizational and prioritization skills are a must.Strong communication skills, both oral and written.Proficient with MS Word and Excel.Ability to establish effective working relationships with colleagues, associates, and clients.Ability to effectively multi-task and work in fast paced, high change environment.Good initiative and attention to detail.Strong skills in conflict resolution.As a multicultural organization, we encourage individual achievement and recognize the strength of a diverse workforce.
