Our client, a leader in Demand Side Platform Development, using cutting edge technology and real-time exchanges to give their clients superior control over their display ads has engaged ROSS (www.getROSS.com) to find a DevOps / System Administrator for this growing and profitable company.This is a full-time, permanent opportunity to serve as DevOps/System Admin for this growing team. Work with talented software engineers who are primarily programming in Core Java. Be part of the company that values your opinion and you can make a difference.The DevOps/System Administrator is responsible for effective provisioning, installation, configuration, tuning, operation and maintenance of Web-based applications and related infrastructure. 7X24 support required.Supporting Java application servers (i.e. - Tomcat, JBoss, WebSphere or WebLogic) experience is a must.Our TechnologySupports billions of transactions per dayDistributed systems and data centersBig Data ImplementationCurrent environment is Linux, Apache, Java, MySQL and big data clusterJob DescriptionPerform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all Web applications and server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.Provide Tier I on-site and on-call support, investigate, troubleshoot and resolve issues, repair and recover from software failures, and coordinate and communicate with impacted users.Perform ongoing performance tuning and resource optimization as required.Work with other support groups and vendor support to upgrade and configure systems and related software as required.Deploy application changes and enhancements into production.Provide regular operational support reports/dashboards on overall system health (based on pre-determined metrics).Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.Assist in OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities.Install and configure Java Application Server.Deploy Java EE (J2EE) applications.Configure Server cluster to support failover and load balancing for applications.Install, configure and manage Apache Web Server.Automate administration tasks as well as scheduling backup jobs.Patch, upgrade and troubleshoot environments.Monitor and report the health and usage of these systems.Identify backup and recovery needs, develop backup strategies and procedures, perform trial recovery as required.Practical experience withJava Application Server (WebSphere/WebLogic or Tomcat/JBoss admin)Performance TuningApache Web ServerLinux or UNIXAbility to perform SQL queriesFamiliarity with JEE standards and concepts.Very good knowledge of OS scripting languages. #J-18808-Ljbffr
