We’re tech-enabled (Clio, Minutebox), flexible, and collaborative — small but mighty, and growing. The Opportunity We’re hiring a Senior Lawyer to be a core, day-in/day-out member of our team. This role leans heavily into Business Law and Employment Law (with Immigration Law as an asset). For the right candidate, we offer clear partnership potential. We’re also open to earn-out arrangements for sole practitioners seeking to roll their practice into the partnership. Key Details Role: Senior Lawyer (Ontario) Location: 100% Remote (firm-provided laptop and Tech) Licensing: Must be an Ontario-licensed lawyer in good standing; additional licenses are an asset Billables: 1,200 billable hours/year (target requirement) — intentionally lower than typical market targets Compensation: Base CAD $135,000–$175,000; OTE CAD $200,000–$300,000 based on billable target and bonus structure What You’ll Do Lead files across business (corporate/commercial, contracts, transactions) and employment (advisory, compliance, disputes) matters Advise SME clients with practical, outcome-oriented guidance Own client relationships and help grow the practice Work efficiently in a modern, paper-light environment using Clio and Minutebox (experience is an asset) What We’re Looking For 10+ years since Call to the Bar (Ontario) Strong track record in business, and/or employment law (both are key focus areas) Experience with Clio and/or Minutebox (asset) Background as a sole practitioner and/or with a larger firm (both are assets) Broad general practice exposure is welcome Entrepreneurial mindset, excellent client service, and comfortable working autonomously in a remote setup Why Emmans Law Boutique agility with big-firm quality standards Lower billable requirement (1,200) with strong earning potential Real partnership pathway and earn-out options for practice roll-ins Fully remote flexibility with the tools to do your best work How to Apply Please send your CV and a short note outlining relevant experience (and any portable practice details, if applicable) to andrew@emmanslaw.com with the subject line “Senior Lawyer – Emmans Law.” Confidential inquiries welcome.
