Mechanical Engineer

OverviewMechanical Engineer (from two to five years of experience) at BBA Consultants. You’ll join the mechanical engineering team, which works on projects in the aluminium, mining, energy and heavy industry sectors. As an engineer, you’ll define solutions, design technical components, coordinate the work of project implementation staff, manage projects effectively and collaborate with various client stakeholders. You’ll work with mechanical experts from Québec City, Mont-Saint-Hilaire and Montréal to develop your skills and deliver successful projects. Part of your role will also involve being on site to support clients, from assessing needs to supervising work and commissioning new assets, while meeting regularly with site stakeholders.ResponsibilitiesAssist with design project studies and detailed engineering assignmentsHelp write technical reportsHelp design plans and specificationsPerform design calculations and ensure plans meet guidelines, code requirements and other regulationsCoordinate the work of designers and other team membersAssign tasks to less experienced engineers, technicians and support staff and review their workMake technical choices on designs to be established, provide recommendations and make important decisions on highly technical or complex issuesEnsure work complies with budgets, estimates, procedures and schedulesParticipate in site surveysHelp draft proposalsIdentify business needsCoordinate projects with client stakeholdersManage mainly single-discipline projectsQualificationsUniversity degree in mechanical engineering and a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du QuébecTwo to five years of experience as a mechanical engineerAvailable for short-term work assignments outside the officeAdvanced English skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients located in English-speaking Canadian provinces and abroadAdvanced French skills to collaborate effectively with BBA offices and/or clients in QuébecValid driver’s licenceAsset: experience in the industrial sectorAsset: ASP Construction cardBenefits and Total RewardsAnnual base salaryAnnual premium program for all regular employeesOnsite mobility premiumAccess to a time bankCellphone programGroup insurance plan from day one, including short-term and long-term disability insurance and a telemedicine programRetirement savings planAnnual vacation and sick leavePremium offered through the Employee Referral programAbout BBABBA is one of Canada’s leading private consulting engineering firms, with over 45 years of experience serving the energy and natural resources industry.
