This is a part‑time (3 days per week) 18‑month contract. The Bilingual Learning Specialist is part of our Learning & Development team and plays a vital role in designing, developing, and delivering engaging learning experiences across multiple formats. This includes facilitating courses, creating instructional content, ensuring accurate course reporting, and applying subject matter expertise in learning and development to assigned initiatives. As a key member of the Learning and Development team, the Bilingual Learning Specialist contributes to building a culture of continuous learning across the firm. The team is responsible for enhancing digital literacy by equipping firm members with the skills to effectively use the firm’s technology, and for delivering leadership and people development programs tailored to Business Services, Paraprofessionals and Legal Support Services. Key Responsibilities Support a culture of continuous learning across the firm. Facilitate learning sessions, including one‑on‑one coaching and group training for small to large audiences. Facilitate people development sessions focused on human skills, such as communication, active listening, conflict resolution, and other interpersonal and workplace effectiveness topics. Teach technology sessions that help firm members build digital literacy and effectively use the firm’s tools and systems. Communicate upcoming learning initiatives to firm members to encourage participation and engagement. Maintain course scheduling and attendance. Demonstrate expertise in eLearning tools, educational software, and learning systems. Design and develop instructional materials such as lesson plans, user guides, job aids, and videos for both technology and people development training. Ensure documentation and reference materials are current, accurate, and accessible. Support the assignment and maintenance of learning paths within the Learning Management System (LMS). Build and maintain relationships across legal practice areas and business services groups. Contribute to knowledge sharing and collaboration within the Learning and Development team and across the firm. Other duties may be assigned. Some travel may be required. Qualifications Fluency in English and French is required. Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Education or a related field. Minimum of five (5) years’ experience delivering both people development sessions (e.g., communication, active listening, conflict resolution) and technology training, with the ability to quickly learn existing content and begin facilitating with confidence. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, document management systems, legal‑specific software, and AI and generative AI tools. Proven experience designing and delivering learning programs across various modalities (e.g., virtual, in‑person, blended). Demonstrated commitment to staying current with best practices and innovations in learning and development. Skilled in facilitating both virtual and instructor‑led training across geographically dispersed teams. Proficient in using a wide range of educational and instructional technologies, including enterprise‑level Learning Management Systems (LMS). Experience using experiential and learner‑centric approaches in training design and delivery. Interest in staying informed about trends in both the learning and legal industries. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to interpret learning data to support program improvements. Experience designing engaging learning activities and materials. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Ability to perform effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities. Strong interpersonal skills with a high level of diplomacy and professionalism. Understanding of inclusive learning principles and ability to design content that reflects diverse perspectives and learning needs. Experience developing training materials such as guides and job aids. Experience in a law firm or professional services environment is an asset.
