What you can expect do here:

  • You will carry out preliminary and detailed design of municipal roads, analyze and process topographical survey information.
  • You will collaborate on urban roadway designs with engineering team members using Autodesk Civil 3D.
  • You will design and prepare reconstruction or rehabilitation contracts of existing roads including arterial/collector/local roads.
  • Prepare design quantities, cost estimates, and provide technical support/engineering expertise to the tendering and construction process.
  • You will check designs, drawings, and prepare specifications and contract documents.
  • You will prepare proposals, technical reports, and review shop drawings.
  • You will interact with clients, contractors, and subconsultants in the field and meetings to review designs and resolve construction issues.
  • Perform additional duties intended to support your growth and development within a professional engineering environment. Mentoring of junior staff is required.

What you’ll bring to WSP:

  • Professional Engineer with 5-10 years demonstrated experience in roadway engineering design.
  • Civil Engineer (P.Eng.) in good standing with PEO.
  • Working knowledge of transportation engineering principles and design standards.
  • Proficient in the application of computer-aided design/drafting programs including AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Competence in Microsoft platforms including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to generate high-quality work.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work on several projects at a time with multiple design teams.
  • A committed team player with a willingness to help others and collaborate.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
