Our communities are among the best places to live in Western Canada.Our Vision: For every person to feel at home.This is truly supported by our credo. “Let us welcome you home.” All of us here feel it is an honor to work with our residents and we advocate a resident-centered approach where the Resident, is the focus of all our endeavors.We are currently seeking a Casual Health Care Aide to join our team that is responsible for hands-on personal care services, medication administration, light housekeeping and meal service assistance, as well as participation in social-recreational activities.ResponsibilitiesPerforms light housekeeping in resident suites and common areasSupport personal care activities; dressing, bathing, incontinenceSimple transfersRespond to medical emergencies in a calm mannerAssists with resident laundry and meal service as neededFollow Care Plans and report any changes or concernsWorking with residents to meet care requirementsDemonstrate ongoing competence utilizing knowledge, skill, judgment, and evidence-based practice in caring for aging adult is vital in this roleEnsure accordance with provincial continuing care health service standards, legislation, codes, regulations, and employment and safety statutesDemonstrate awareness of accident and injury prevention, through safe work practices and proceduresOther duties as assigned to support operational requirementsQualificationsCompletion of provincial Health Care Aid certificationRegistered with provincial health care registryCompletion of Medication Administration courseExperience in a residential care setting is preferredDemonstrate infection control proceduresExceptional interpersonal skills with peers, residents, visitors and operational partnersSuperior organizational skills with the ability to handle multi-resident requestsSuperior oral and written communication skillsDemonstrate the ability to prioritize and problem solveFlexibility to work a variety of shiftsAbility to stand for extended periods of time, bend, squat, kneel and lift 25 poundsDisplay compassion, education, proficiency, and experience while assisting residentsAre you legally authorized to work in Canada?Do you currently reside within Canada?Will you require sponsorship now or in the future?What is your status in Canada?Are you currently registered with the BC Care aide registry?Please attach your registry copyHow many years of full-time Canadian HCA experience do you have?Do you have a Valid Food Safe, CPR and First Aid certificates?Please attach the Food safe, CPR and First Aid certificates.Do you have any other trainings and certificates?
