Full-Time Professor, Paramedic & Advanced Care Police and Public Safety Institute, Algonquin College. Position type: Full-time academic. Anticipated start date: December 15, 2025. Scheduled weekly hours: 44. Salary range: $77,153.00 – $133,752.00. Posting closing date: November 6, 2025. Responsibilities Design, revise, and update courses under the direction of the Chair, focusing on effective learning environments. Consult with program and course administrators, faculty, advisory committees, employers, and students. Define and evaluate learning outcomes, specify learning approaches, approve resources. Incorporate educational technologies to meet 21st‑century student needs. Review and revise curriculum and participate in professional development during non‑teaching periods. Deliver regularly scheduled instruction across terms and in associate departments. Ensure students understand course learning outcomes and evaluation techniques. Provide tutoring, academic advising, and create conducive learning environments. Assess student progress/achievement and assume responsibility for overall assessment of student work. Provide guidance to students, instructors, and part‑time professors regarding teaching assignments. Participate in curriculum and consultative committees, departmental/faculty meetings. Liaise with community members and promote programs and the College. Remain current in the field, aware of emerging trends, and model the College values—Caring, Learning, Integrity, Respect. Required Qualifications Advanced Care Paramedic graduate certificate. Bachelor’s degree (Honors) or Master’s degree in Paramedicine, Health studies, Science, Kinesiology, Education, or related field. Approximately three (3) years of post‑secondary teaching experience in theory and labs (excluding preceptorship). Minimum five (5) years practical experience with land ambulance in Ontario. Experience developing and delivering paramedic simulations. Evidence of applied research capability. Knowledge of student success strategies in post‑secondary settings. Experience using educational technologies; development and delivery of hybrid and online curriculum. Highly effective communication, presentation, and organizational skills. Demonstrated skill in Algonquin College’s preferred teaching competencies as set out in the Professor of the 21st Century document. Evidence of commitment to the success of all learners.
