Join to apply for the Director, Global Accounting Policy role at Canada Life.Permanent Full TimeDirector, Global Accounting PolicyWhat you will doDevelop, enhance, and enforce global accounting policies under IFRS and other regulatory frameworksResearch and analyze technical accounting matters, including new accounting pronouncements and complex transactions, and advise senior management on recommended accounting solutionsIdentify opportunities and lead initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting processesCollaborate with segment and other global teams to support accounting analysis over potential and completed transactionsAs part of the financial reporting team, review quarterly external disclosures to ensure accuracy of presentation and disclosure of financial informationCoach and mentor team members, developing them to be future leadersWhat you will bringDeep understanding and extensive experience with IFRSCPA designation is requiredProven expertise in technical accounting researchStrong organizational and project management skills to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environmentExcellent stakeholder management skillsAdequate knowledge of internal controls over financial reportingExperience with coaching and leading teamsGiven the size and scope of our organization, we have the flexibility for this position to be located in the following head office locations: Toronto, London, Winnipeg.The base salary for this position is between $102,300 - $187,700 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation (i.e., annual bonus, commission etc).Career opportunities will be open a minimum of 5 business days from the date of posting; closing dates will vary depending on the search activity.
