The Centre for Bioethics and the Division of Population Health and Applied Health Sciences invite applications for two tenure‑stream positions in Bioethics (VPA # F01033-2024-113 / VPA # F02882-2024-114). These appointments will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, with consideration of Associate Professor ranking, and are anticipated to commence in September 2026. Memorial University is situated on the traditional territories of diverse Indigenous groups of the Beothuk, Mi’kmaq, Innu, and Inuit of the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. The university acknowledges and respects the diverse history and cultures of these groups. Responsibilities Graduate teaching, including the Master of Health Ethics (MHE) degree program and, as appropriate, supervision of learners in other graduate programs. Maintain a program of scholarly research in bioethics, including clinical ethics support to the province’s health authority. Participate in academic service activities and the design and delivery of core bioethics and health law content in undergraduate medical (MD) and postgraduate residency programs. Qualifications PhD in philosophy, bioethics, or a related discipline with evidence of scholarship relevant to bioethics.
